AGATEX has joined Euredia
The Euredia board has confirmed our admission: AGATEX is now a member of the European Refrigerants Distributors and Reclaimers Association. We are joining the European association of the companies that distribute, repack and reclaim refrigerants in Europe.
Who Euredia is
Euredia was founded on 24 June 2026 by ten companies from nine countries — the first pan-European association of its kind. It is based in Brussels, Avenue des Arts 47. It represents the distributors, repackers and reclaimers of refrigerants across Europe — that part of the value chain responsible for making sure refrigerants reach the European market legally, safely and responsibly, and leave it properly at the end of their life.
The association has set itself three priorities:
Compliance. European climate legislation — the F-Gas Regulation above all — only delivers if it is actually complied with. Euredia works to keep the rules applicable to every market participant alike and workable in practice.
Market integrity. The illegal trade in F-gases is not a fringe phenomenon. It undermines the quota system, exposes users to material of unknown quality and penalises every company that plays by the rules. Euredia brings the industry’s voice together towards the Commission, the Member States and customs authorities.
Circularity. Recovery, recycling and reclaim are the lever that absorbs the shrinking quota volumes. Reclaimed refrigerant reaches virgin-equivalent quality, is not counted against the quota, and is the environmentally sounder route. Euredia works to see these routes strengthened rather than obstructed by regulation.
Why we are joining
The refrigerants business is no sideline for AGATEX. We supply refrigerants across the full spectrum — from the classic HFCs through the HFO generation to the natural refrigerants — along with refrigeration oils, leak detection agents and A/C service units. We take back used refrigerant, reclaim it and properly dispose of what is beyond recovery. For the periodic inspection of refrigerant cylinders and drums we operate a TÜV-certified test centre, and filling is done on our own site.

A company that covers the entire life cycle of a refrigerant is touched by every change of rules in several places at once: in the quota, in take-back, in the inspection of the containers, in whether a given substance may still be placed on the market. That is precisely why we want a seat at the table where those rules are discussed — rather than learning about them when they appear in the Official Journal.
What it means for our customers
Nothing changes about supply. A good deal changes in what we can add to it:
Knowing earlier. Quota volumes, substance restrictions, the PFAS debate, the current discussion around TFA as the degradation product of HFO refrigerants: all of this decides availability and price over the medium term. We will now receive these developments first hand and pass them on in our technical advice.
Shaping rather than following. As a member we bring in the perspective of an independent, mid-sized distributor and reclaimer — the perspective, in other words, of the companies that have to put the rules into practice every day.
Reclaim with a tailwind. The more firmly circularity is anchored in regulation, the more attractive the take-back of used refrigerant becomes — for the environment as much as for our customers’ costing.
