AGATEX opens new Innovation Center

AGATEX Feinchemie GmbH opens new Innovation Center in Edt bei Lambach

Edt bei Lambach, Austria – AGATEX Feinchemie GmbH has opened a new Innovation Center at its site in Edt bei Lambach. Following less than one year of construction and an investment in the seven-figure euro range, the new facilities were occupied at the end of last year.

“This investment is a clear commitment to our Austrian site and highlights the importance of research, development and innovation for our company. At the same time, our parallel investments in Thailand strengthen our international presence and allow us to be even closer to our customers in global growth markets,” says Managing Director Georg Bauer.

The core of the investment in Edt bei Lambach is the expansion of AGATEX’s research and development capabilities. This includes an upgraded chemical laboratory, a new application technology laboratory designed to simulate real customer processes, as well as additional office and meeting spaces. The application laboratory, in particular, enables product testing under realistic, process-oriented conditions.

“With this investment, we can support our customers even more effectively and significantly reduce development timelines. Developing solutions together with our customers is essential to finding the right answers to complex challenges. Our clear goal is to become the preferred partner of our customers,” adds Managing Director Nikolaus Bauer-Harnoncourt.

With the new Innovation Center in Austria and the simultaneous expansion of its international activities – especially in Southeast Asia – AGATEX is setting the course for sustainable growth, technological excellence and closer customer collaboration worldwide.

AGATEX at Re4tex 2025 – Driving Circularity in the Textile Industry

We are pleased to participate as an exhibitor at this year’s Re4tex – Recycling for Textiles Colloquium, one of Europe’s leading platforms for circular economy, sustainable fiber development, and innovative recycling technologies.

As a family-owned company with more than 100 years of history, circularity is deeply rooted in our philosophy. We firmly believe that real progress can only be achieved through strong industrial partnerships across the value chain.

Our Contribution: LAMBAFIL® R – Enhanced Performance for Mechanical Recycling

With our LAMBAFIL R Series, we support fiber and nonwoven producers in achieving higher recycling performance without compromising process efficiency:

  • Longer fibers due to improved cohesion

  • Significantly reduced dust formation

  • Smoother processing in carding and spinning

  • Stable and consistent quality, even at higher recycled content

We are delighted that our Head of Application Technology, Thomas Maier, will be present at the event to discuss technical challenges, ongoing projects, and new partnership opportunities.

AGATEX (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Groundbreaking Ceremony

AGATEX Breaks Ground for its First Overseas Production Site in Thailand

On October 10th, 2025, at exactly 11:11 a.m., AGATEX celebrated a historic milestone: the Groundbreaking Ceremony for its first international production site in Prachinburi, Thailand.

More than a century after Hanns Bauer laid the foundation of AGATEX in Lambach, Austria, another foundation was set — this time in Southeast Asia. The event marks the next chapter in our company’s journey of innovation, quality, and partnership.

The ceremony combined traditional Thai spirituality with Austrian family heritage, symbolizing both gratitude and forward-looking optimism. With blessings, incense, and the first pile driven into the ground, the ceremony embodied AGATEX’s philosophy: Building the future with respect for our roots.

Among the guests were Georg Bauer and Nikolaus Bauer-Harnoncourt (Owners of AGATEX Group), Andreas Köck (Managing Director AGATEX APAC), H.E. Dr. Wilhelm Donko (Austrian Ambassador to Thailand), Michael Friedl (Austrian Commercial Counsellor), and many of our valued partners and friends.

The new AGATEX Thailand production site will serve as a hub for specialty chemicals for the fiber, nonwovens, and paper industries in Asia. With its strategic location, the site will enable faster service, closer customer collaboration, and sustainable growth throughout the region.

“This step is both a symbol of our heritage and a commitment to the future,” said Nikolaus Bauer-Harnoncourt. “We are proud to continue what began over 100 years ago — now with an even broader horizon.”

“AGATEX has always stood for long-term relationships built on trust and reliability,” added Georg Bauer. “Our expansion to Thailand follows the same philosophy — growing together with our customers and partners.”

We sincerely thank everyone who has supported us on this journey so far.
This is only the beginning — but a beginning built on strong foundations.

AGATEX at the 38th Hofer Vliesstofftage: Innovation for a sustainable nonwovens future

On November 5 and 6, 2025, AGATEX will once again be represented at the Hofer Vliesstofftage (Hof Nonwovens Days) – the leading industry gathering for the nonwovens industry in German-speaking countries. As a family-owned company with over 100 years of history, it is particularly important to us to engage in direct dialogue with our customers and partners in order to jointly develop sustainable and efficient solutions.

Our focus at the event:
🔁 LAMBAFIL® R series – For the mechanical recycling of textiles
The textile circular economy is one of the major challenges of the coming years. With our LAMBAFIL® R series, we offer innovative chemical additives that have been specially developed for the requirements of mechanically recycled fibers. Among other things, the products improve:

  • the fiber length after processing,
  • reduce dust during processing,
  • and optimize further processing in carding, combing, or spinning.

In this way, we are making an active contribution to the better integration of recycled materials into existing processes.

🧪 LAMBAFIL® Nonwoven Solutions – Tailor-made chemistry for nonwovens
Whether antistatic, hydrophilic, hydrophobic finishes or defoamers – with our LAMBAFIL® product range, we offer tailor-made solutions for the specific requirements of nonwoven production. Our focus is on process reliability, product performance, and sustainability.

🧬 New AGATEX Innovation Center – Development under real conditions
In order to provide our customers with even better support, we opened our new Innovation Center in 2025. There we can:

  • conduct fiber-specific tests directly in-house,
  • simulate application-specific tests on nonwovens,
  • and develop new formulations much faster and in a more targeted manner.

This means shorter development times, better results, and even closer cooperation with our customers.

Visit us at the AGATEX tabletop at the Hofer Vliesstofftage 2025 in Hof.
We look forward to talking to all players along the nonwovens value chain – from manufacturers and machine builders to brands and converters.
