Our responsibility in the supply chain
As a manufacturer of specialty chemicals, we bear responsibility—not only for our own products and processes, but also for the entire upstream supply chain. Sustainable procurement is a key lever for AGATEX to strengthen environmental and social standards globally and reduce CO₂ emissions throughout the value chain.
Our principles for sustainable procurement
1. Binding standards
We expect our suppliers to comply with our Code of Conduct, international environmental and social standards, and relevant legal requirements (e.g., REACH, EU Supply Chain Act). Our purchasing policy is based on fairness, transparency, and risk minimization.
2. Systematic evaluation
AGATEX regularly evaluates new and existing suppliers based on clear sustainability criteria:
Environmental management & emissions
Occupational safety & human rights
Ethics & integrity
Resource conservation
3. External certification
Where possible, we prefer suppliers with recognized sustainability certificates (e.g., EcoVadis, FSC, RSPO). We are working toward sourcing over 90% of our purchasing volume from certified or audited sources by 2030.
Cooperation on equal terms
Sustainability can only be achieved together. We see our suppliers as partners with whom we actively work on improvements:
- Supplier self-assessments: structured self-disclosure on ESG topics
- Sustainability workshops: joint development of sustainable solutions
- Audits & feedback meetings: continuous further development
Our tools & processes
- EcoVadis rating system for objective assessment of sustainability performance
- Supplier classification according to ESG risk & relevance
- Digital tracking of certificates and carbon footprint
- Standardized audit processes for high-risk materials
Getting better together
That is why we focus on long-term partnerships, open dialogue, and the continuous improvement of our procurement processes.
